                              WCA Lifetime Achievement Awardees from Northern California

                              The Lifetime Achievement Awards were first awarded in 1979 in President Jimmy Carter’s Oval Office to Isabel Bishop, Selma Burke, Alice Neel, Louise Nevelson, and Georgia O'Keeffe.  LTA honorees have represented the full range of distinguished achievement in the visual arts professions. These awards recognize the contributions made by women who have distinguished themselves by their activism and commitment to the women's movement and the arts. Selections for the Annual Honor Awards for Lifetime Achievement are among the most important actions the WCA takes to increase the recognition of women's contributions in the visual arts.

                              The following Lifetime Achievement Awardees are from Northern California and NCWCA is proud to have them in our midst:

                              Ester Hernandez, artist. Honored in 2009 in Los Angeles, CA.
                              Yoland Lopez, artist. Honored in 2008 in Dallas, TX.
                              Wanda Corn, art historian. Honored in 2007 in New York, NY.
                              Eleanor Dickinson, artist. Honored in 2003 in New York, NY.
                              Jo Hanson, artist. Honored in 1997 in Philadelphia, PA.
                              Moira Roth, art historian. Honored in 1997 in Philadelphia, PA.
                              Ruth Asawa, artist. Honored in 1993 in Seattle, WA.
