Artist Statement

My artwork consists of assemblage and installations using recycled materials and organic matter. Various pieces tell a story about women, unseen parts of society, history, and the here and now. The theme of war weaves throughout my work – the war of yesteryear and the war of today. Other works serve as objects of healing, similar to the role of fetish figures created by the shamans of indigenous cultures.
