Artist Statement
Currently, I have begun to depict images of Palestinian refugees, civilians in Iraq and other aspects of US-Arab relations in an effort to reveal America's considerable moral failures in its war on terror. I depict war in many different times and places because as we are constantly reminded, violence against women and oppressed groups has occurred repeatedly because society as a whole "forgets" how easily it can reoccur. My intention is to echo the suffering of the forgotten so that as a society, we can all remember.
"We--even we here--hold the power, and bear the responsibility." Abraham Lincoln
