2013 Year End Party

We each put a New Year's wish on a card. Someone else took the card and created art. Then we got our card back with a beautiful piece of art that represented our wish. Then we made hats. Food and burning bad juju came next. Some burning juju floated magically up into the night sky. Then we made hats. Even those who had extra large heads made hats that fit. At last we did the White Elephant exchange. We laughed and laughed. What a great evening! Wings Fundraiser October 11, 2013

NCWCA partnered with Wings Learning Center, a nonprofit in San Mateo that supports the academic and social needs of children with autism and communication disorders. Judy Johnson-Williams and Judy Shintani engaged children at Wings and at an inner city school in Oakland to make a large installation. Trudi Chamoff Hauptman, Susana van Bezooijen, and Rachel Tirosh sold their artwork at the fundraiser, with a portion of their sales going to Wings. Below is a slideshow of the successful event. This is NCWCA's first venture into a collaborative project with another non-profit.
