ABOUT NCWCA

Founded in 1972, Women's Caucus for Art  is an affiliate society of the College Art Association and founding partner of the Feminist Art Project. Northern California Women's Caucus is one of its earliest chapters, formed in 1973.  It is one of three California chapters and serves members in San Francisco, East Bay, South Bay, Marin and all parts of Northern California.

NCWCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. EIN 77-0183213

MISSION

Our Mission is to create community through art, education and social activism.

We are committed to:
  • Recognizing the contributions of women in the arts
  • Providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development
  • Expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women
  • Supporting local, national, and global art activism
  • Advocating for equity in the arts for all

1. Plan for the future of NCWCA

2. Organize full day or multi-day event such as Djerassi conference/workshop or Ghost Ranch artist residency

3. Build better name recognition in the Bay Area

5. Attract women in the arts who work in academia,  gallery/museum curation or management, art writers

6. Collaborate with another institution for member exhibition and offer full compliment of events

7. Launch new programs based on member input such as art critique, book club, etc

8. Grow Art Tag (create more groups to meet the demand)
