About NCWCA

Founded in 1972, Women's Caucus for Art  is an affiliate society of the College Art Association and founding partner of the Feminist Art Project. The Northern California Women's Caucus is one of its earliest chapters, formed in 1973.  It is one of four California chapters and serves members in San Francisco, East Bay, South Bay, Marin and all parts of Northern California.

NCWCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our Mission is to create community through art, education and social activism.

We are committed to:
  • Recognizing the contributions of women in the arts
  • Providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development
  • Expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women
  • Supporting local, national, and global art activism
  • Advocating for equity in the arts for all

2021 NCWCA GOALS

  1. Carry forward established programs: Bay Area Art Stars, Mentorship Program, Year End Party, 27 Black Women in the Arts, South Bay Pod
  2. Composing the Future members' show
  3. Form a grants committee
  4. Form connections with Pacific Region WCA chapters
  5. Arc Project Gallery exhibitions 2021/2022
  6. Establish formal onboarding procedure for new board members
  7. Make new connections with nonprofits, galleries, and/or arts organizations
  8. Trademark NCWCA logo​
  9. Form a book/podcast club
  10. Table Setting Project exhibition
