ART CRIT GROUP
Wednesday, October 25, 7pm
SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN OCTOBER 1 - 13
Join professional guest reviewer Meghan Pohlod and a group of your peers for NCWCA's quarterly Art Crit! This quarter's focus is printmaking.
Meg Pohlod is a print artist based in the Bay Area. She is the lead Printmaking Faculty at Laney Community College in Oakland, California and is currently the Fellowship Artist at Black Rock Press and holds a faculty position at University of Nevada Reno. Prior to teaching here she was the Artist Residency Manager at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, California from 2018-2022. She received her MFA in printmaking from the University of Alberta in 2017.
Unlike NCWCA's Art Share, in this new Art Crit group you're not the one talking about your work. Instead, you submit one artwork, 2-3 sentences (optional), and our guest reviewer and your fellow artists offer constructive criticism - neither judgment nor unsupported praise.
And if you're not one of the artists being reviewed this time around, there's still so much that you can learn by attending and participating! Find out how the pros think and talk about art, practice your own critiquing skills, and perhaps gain some insight into your own work as well.

Please note:
- Art Crit is for members of NCWCA in good standing. Not a member yet? Join us!
- We review one work from each of 6 artists per meeting. If more than 6 artists sign up to participate, we'll have a lottery to choose names.
- No need to sign up to attend Art Crit as a peer reviewer or observer - all members will receive the Zoom link before the meeting.
- Deadline to sign up: October 13, 2023
