How to participate
- Create a lightweight circle artwork up to 12 inches in diameter, a maximum of four ounces, with a small hole or hanging loop so we may pin or tie your artwork to a sheer fabric screen.
- Create your circle shapes (substrates) out of lightweight materials i.e. paper, cardboard, recycled materials, balsa wood, quilted fabric, paper plates, canvas, wire, etc. We are open to your ideas, too!
- Create your imagery with paint, collage, assemblage (lightweight), printmaking, sewing, photography, text, fabric, glitter, beads, or whatever floats your boat.
- Circles can be simple and abstract as well as complex and representational. Create one, create many!
- Larger and heavier works will be considered on a limited basis. If you have larger, heavier circle artwork, please send a .jpg image to elizabeth[at]ncwca.org with a description, weight, and dimensions. These must be approved before artwork delivery.
- For inspiration and community artmaking, attend our virtual Circle-Making Workshop on Tuesday, January 16, 7-8 PM. Members will receive Zoom link info via chaptermail.
- You may invite non-member family and friends to make circles or hold your own circle making gatherings! Make sure to document your process and artwork.
- Create a .jpg image of your completed circle artwork(s). IMPORTANT: Label them as Firstname_Lastname_Title (example: Elizabeth_Addison_Medusa.jpg). Then use these tags on your Instagram: @the_calling22 and @the6000circle_project. The organizers of the 6000 Circle Project will pick up on those tags and add your circles to their Instagram site. Look for your circle in the "Circles" section of https://www.instagram.com/the6000circle_project/.
