THE WILD SIDE CALL FOR ART
California Women Celebrate the Untamed

Picture
You were once wild here. Don’t let them tame you.
~ Isadora Duncan

We all have a wild side, whether we stride boldly there or keep it under the radar. Women, traditionally, have been taught to keep their “wildness” under wraps – raucous, adventurous, risk-taking, bold & brave, sometimes licentious, or living outside traditional moral codes. For “The Wild Side,” we are looking for works that excite visually, evoke drama or strong emotions and celebrate the untamed.

Submission Deadline May 23, 2022

Saturday, June 11: 1-2:30 pm Eastern /10-11:30 am Pacific Zoom Event
Two NCWCA members, Lydia Nakashima Degarrod and Marguerite Elliot will be participating in this WCA panel, available exclusively to members.

Panel Chairs: Susan Ossman, Lydia Nakashima-Degarrod / Panelists: Lydia Nakashima Degarrod, Margeurite Elliot, Susan Ossman, Nirmal Raja / Respondent: Jane Chin Davidson

This panel is part of the WCA 50th Anniversary Second Saturday Sessions, programs that were originally scheduled for the WCA National Conference in February 2022. NCWCA CASUAL CONNECTIONS

Picture
Thursday May 19 6:30 - 7:30 PM Pacific Daylight Time
Join us in May for a virtual get-together! NCWCA is launching a virtual get-together every third Thursday of the month. Drop in from 6:30 -7:30 pm and catch up with fellow members on a wide range of topics. Let's share news or get information about current exhibitions, artmaking, workshops, art books, great art resources, as well as simply catching up with each other. This is a great way for new members to get to know members of the chapter. There's no agenda and Casual Connections is self-moderated - we hope everyone will have a chance to share an idea or experience.
Future Casual Connections will alternate between 6:30 - 7:30 PM and 12 - 1 pm to accommodate the varying schedules of members.
This monthly event is exclusively for NCWCA members. You will be provided with a Zoom link prior to the get-together.
