SOMArts Grant Writing CommitteeNCWCA will be applying for the 2015-16 SOMArts Commons Curatorial Residency Program for an exhibition on women & money. SOMArts requires the exhibit to be curated and be relevant to the San Francisco Bay Area communities. Tanya Augsburg, Karen Gufreund, Kelly Hammargren and Priscilla Otani will be conceiving the exhibition and writing the grant proposal. If accepted, they will lead a larger committee to implement and manage the exhibition. In 2011, national WCA won the curatorial residency for "Man As Object: Reversing the Gaze." Young Women's Curatorial Grant CommitteeKelly Hammargren, Judy Johnson-Williams, Priscilla Otani and Sandra Yagi have formed a committee to mentor the Berkeley Young Women's Art Collective, which has been selected to receive the 2014 Curatorial Grant. They welcome more committee members to help with preparation for their exhibition in November, helping to create a catalog, hang works in the gallery, manage the opening reception and other activities, and take down the exhibition.
Benefits Activities CommitteeNCWCA is looking to team up with other Bay Area non-profits to support their events or projects. In 2013, NCWCA members worked with Wings Learning Center to help them raise funds for children with autism. We also participated in Art Break Day with Oakland residents and had a table at the Women's Building's annual Celebration of
